cETH — Integration

Overview

cETH is a tokenized Ether asset on Canton, issued by OnRails in collaboration with Digital Asset.

Each cETH is backed 1:1 by ETH held in custody.

Issuance and redemption are managed through OnRails, with liquidity supported by institutional partners.

The token follows the Canton Network Token Standard (CIP-0056) and is managed through the Digital Asset Utilities service. Any wallet or exchange that already supports CIP-0056 can transfer and hold cETH without additional integration work.

Use these official cETH token icons when displaying the asset in wallets, exchanges, or other interfaces. All icons are 1080×1080px PNG files with a dark Ethereum diamond on a green (#D6E6A0) background.

Registry

You can retrieve all instruments registered by a given admin party from the utilities backend.

<utility_backend_url>/api/token-standard/v0/registrars/<admin_party_id>/registry/metadata/v1/instruments

Use the registry as the reference for token metadata. It is reasonable to cache responses and refresh periodically rather than calling on every request.

Redeem

To convert cETH back into ETH (ERC-20), submit a redemption request through the dedicated redemption page. Requests are reviewed and processed within 7 business days from the moment your cETH transfer is confirmed.
